Stringed instruments I.  Normal modes and partials of stringed instruments.  Coupling sound from the string to the air through the resonator or sounding board.  The guitar, harp, and other struck or plucked stringed instruments.  The harpsichord.  The mechanics and sound from a piano: the hammer striking action, the sound envelope, the timbre, and inharmonicity of the partials.
